The idea for this site’s name came from a recurring chant heard at the recent protests against the criminal cult of Scientology, in London.

The chant goes like this:

“We have cake, they have lies!”

The chant breaks down very simply into two pieces:

1. An absolutely correct factual statement; at every London anti-Scientology protest where this has been used, the protesters have had cake – either for their own enjoyment, or to be shared with passers-by
2. An assertion which the protesters believe to be equally true; the so-called “Church of Scientology” peddles lies, both to its members and to the general public.

Of course, Scientology probably also has cake. But, we posit, they would only have cake when they’re doing big silly things like throwing a huge birthday party for Tom Cruise on their private cruise ship (the one with all the blue asbestos).
