How To Protest

You don’t need our permission to protest against Scientology. First do some background reading so you understand what it is you’re opposing, then just grab a mask (if you like – although we do strongly suggest you wear one) and turn up.

Children, obviously, should check with their parents first.

If you’re protesting somewhere there aren’t already-established protests for you to join in, then you should check with the relevant local police first. In some countries, you’re obliged by law to inform the police or obtain a permit – but even if you don’t have to, it’s a good move to let them know in advance where-and-when you’re intending to protest.

We recommend that you don’t protest alone and we strongly suggest that you have a video camera with you. It has been known for staff at some Scientology locations to make wilfully false claims to the police to try to get an emergency response to peaceful, lawful protesters. If you’re nervous, stick to the bigger events rather than the smaller “mini-raids”.
